Amanda’s work focuses on the pharmaceutical and medtech sectors, including medical sensors and other medical equipment. She works with a wide range of clients from startups and tech transfer organisations to larger pharmaceutical and medtech companies, and is known for her expertise in providing pragmatic advice on IP strategy.

Amanda has an extensive track record in helping companies to develop and manage their IP portfolios, including drafting and handling the prosecution of multinational series of patent applications and assisting with freedom to operate matters and due diligence.

She enjoys working with her clients to develop strategies to ensure that their IP portfolio is in good shape for their commercial aims, be that investment, acquisition, or bringing a product to market.

Amanda also routinely represents clients at opposition before the European Patent Office and has worked on oppositions relating to the drugs sofosbuvir, plerixafor and eculizumab. She also handles opposition portfolios in the fields of blood disorders, wound healing and dialysis. Amanda has particular expertise in prosecuting applications in China and is a regular visitor there.
