AMPAC Fine Chemicals (AFC), an SK pharmteco Company, a leading manufacturer of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients in the United States, expanded its pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities through the addition of a state-of-the-art Complex Molecule Chemistry & Engineering Center.

Today’s announcement is an important step in AFC’s continued commitment to developing new capabilities to lead the industry in the ability to rapidly develop and scale chemistry that is becoming more complex,” said Dr. Jeff Butler, AFC President. “We are excited to broaden our cGMP capabilities, allowing us to deliver critical pharmaceutical ingredients for lifesaving therapies.

“Syntheses have become more complex often relying on multi-step telescoped transformations. The facility’s design supports development of complex molecules including custom phosphoramidites, UV sensitive compounds, and pegylated substrates, from grams to kilograms with comprehensive analytical testing capabilities. This expands upon our core technologies such as Energetic Chemistry, High Potency, Chromatography, and Continuous Processing, which are instrumental in synthesis of complex molecules”, shares Dr. John Jacobsen, AFC Executive Director of Research and Development.

Dr. William DuBay, SK pharmteco Vice President of Research and Development adds “This additional capacity expands our ability to meet the demand for rapid development of innovative technology solutions for our customers.”

Located on AFC’s 250-acre site in Rancho Cordova, California the new Complex Molecule Chemistry & Engineering Center adds new capacity and advances continuous processing technologies.
