Vice President, Global Head of Drug Product Design, Pfizer Worldwide Research and Development

I completed my first degree in Pharmacy at the University of Manchester and worked in community Pharmacy before completing my PhD at the University of Nottingham. I then worked for GSK within a discovery drug metabolism environment before moving to Pfizer to set up a Pharmaceutical Sciences Discovery support group.

I led the Research Pharmaceutical Sciences group and the Global Research Formulation Network providing formulation and drug delivery support to all programs from early Research through to clinical Proof of Concept. I have also been the Pharmaceutical Sciences Research leader for A&R, Pain and GI/GU Research units and a member of the Global Clinical Research leadership team. In addition, I was the global Pharmaceutical Science leader for Intellectual Property and technical leader for merger and acquisition due diligence activities.

The Drug Product Design group is responsible for all drug activities from molecular design in Research through to global registration and supporting commercial launch. I am also the Sandwich Site Lead for Medicinal Sciences and represent Pfizer on the EFPIA and ABPI Innovation boards, the MMIP board and Professor of Pharmaceutics at the University of Nottingham.
