GERALD LAW

Chief Executive, Innovation DB

Following an early career in corporate banking in London and then academia at Oxford, Gerald joined ATKearney, the global US strategy consulting firm, working on projects for manufacturing and telecoms clients.

Gerald moved on to work in two smaller people and change consulting businesses, with clients in those same sectors and increasingly in high-tech and software companies, before himself being part of the management of several start-up businesses. In these he successfully raised funds, won contracts, acquired companies and exited a business in 2009. With the support of the STFC, Gerald then established the UK Innovation Forum, to connect universities and businesses, which morphed into Innovation Database and Forum in 2016, following a successful investment round to expand its activities. Innovation DB has an enviable list of global blue chip clients and, with staff now in 6 countries, continues to grow internationally which resulted in the build of a database of technologies with commercial applications from thousands of academic institutions across the globe.
