KAY BOYCOTT

Chief Executive Officer, Asthma UK and British Lung Foundation

Kay Boycott has a wealth of cross-sector experience in both executive and non-executive roles. Kay began her career in commercial roles for Nestlé Rowntree and Johnson & Johnson. This was followed by a decade in strategy consultancy for global clients including DTZ, Nestlé, GlaxoSmithKline, Vodafone, and UK Government departments. In this period she also served as a non-executive director and finance and audit Committee chair of a NHS Primary Care Trust.

She moved to the charity sector first as director of campaigns, policy and communications for Shelter, leading the response to the 2008 financial crash. As chief executive of Asthma UK. she led digital transformation, cross sector partnerships in research and innovation and merger with the British Lung Foundation. She became the first Chief Executive of Asthma UK and British Lung Foundation leading them through a successful integration recognised by being shortlisted for two charity of the year awards. She is stepping down in late 2020 in a long-planned move to a fully portfolio career.

Kay is currently a trustee of the Association of Medical Research Charities, a Council member and Audit & Risk Committee Chair for Durham University, a Non-Executive Director for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, a member of the Kings Fund General Advisory Council, and member of the NHS Net Zero Expert Panel.
