Oliver has worked actively in international standardization projects for Medical Devices on ISO 14971 Risk-Management; IEC 62304 Medical Software; IEC 60601-1 Electrical Equipment & Systems; IEC 62366-1 Usability and IEC 80001-1 IT Network. He was also one of the founding members of the ISO 14971 committee in 1996.

Oliver is head of the German National Committee for Medical Electrical Equipment & Systems and is involved with monitoring global medical device standardization projects (Safety; Security; Risk-Management; Artificial Intelligence). Since 2011 he is a member of the International advisory board for IEC (International Electrical Commission) for the Technical Committee TC62 (Medical Equipment) – SNAIG (on Software, Networks and Artificial Intelligence).
