SEAN BREEN

Seán has more than thirty year’s experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He has gained extensive leadership experience in research, development and commercial organisations in Europe and the US.
He currently leads engagement in more than 80 large Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and the Science Policy function within Takeda. He is responsible for building trusted relationships with policy influencers, academic institutions and other relevant external stakeholder groups. More specifically he provides leadership in engaging in external partnerships such as the Innovative Medicines Initiative in Europe, the Accelerating Medicines Partnership in the US and multiple PPPs in Japan. He currently represents Takeda on the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) Innovation Board, the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) Innovation Board and the Research Innovation Strategy Board within EFPIA.
Previously Seán has been responsible for successful delivery of global clinical development programmes across multiple therapy areas while at Pfizer, GSK and AstraZeneca.
