Speech and language therapy team lead, Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Corinne Mossey-Gaston is the speech and language therapy team lead for Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She qualified as a nurse in 1991 and then completed her return to nursing practice exams October 2021. She started her return to nursing as part of the NMC changes in training, as a response to challenges of COVID. She is joint Company Director for a profitable luxury motorbike restoration company, which she set up in 2008.
She is a founding member of the International Ultrasound Working Group, which is committed to the safe and effective use of ultrasound in Speech and Language Therapy. She was the team lead for a bid for a Medtech funding application. This bid was not successful, but received positive feedback. She feels she gained the skills required to increase the chance of successful completion of a project. She is currently working on a couple of projects and preparing them for funding. She has an interest in the use and adaptation of medical devices to improve patient outcomes.
