Founder, Intelligent Fabric Technologies
George graduated from the University of Manchester with a first-class honours degree in textiles, economics and management science.
After setting up the most modern knitting plant in Europe, his passion for technical textiles led to the development of fabric technologies such as Dri-FIT® for Nike and ClimaTeam® for Adidas.
George then turned his attention to the possibility of fabrics delivering medication. His first ‘bio-technology’ fabric known as Dreamskin® has been successfully treating eczema suffers for over a decade and licenses the technology to some of the largest companies in the world. The same polymer technology has been the subject of intensive research at Manchester Metropolitan whose soon to be published research will show why the same polymer technology will transform the humble cotton into fabric that accelerates wound healing by a factor of seven!
Other smart fabrics developed by George and his team include a patented skin-friendly insect repelling fabric activated by body movement and Cliniweave®, a gold standard antibacterial fabric sold to healthcare facilities.
