Previously Colin was a core team member of a successfully exited, VC backed med tech spin out from Edinburgh University (Voxar Ltd), which became a world leader in 3D medical visualisation and image processing algorithms. Following the acquisition he played a key role in the establishment of a new medical software business unit at Barco N.V. a BEL20 blue chip technology company before joining global multinational Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation (now part of Canon Medical Systems), where he led strategic business planning & innovation related to medical imaging software R&D. He led several global strategic initiatives including successful development of the C-level business case for a multi-million dollar AI driven clinical imaging platform. At Toshiba he held the prestigious position of Toshiba Fellow for medical software R&D. Author or co-author on 5 medical imaging and image processing patents.
