Head of External and Public Affairs, Northern Health Science Alliance (NHSA)

Hannah Davies is Head of External and Public Affairs for the Northern Health Science Alliance (NHSA), an alliance of 24 northern hospitals, universities and Academic Health Science Networks, and leads their health inequality work. She has been instrumental in developing the NHSA’s health inequality strand which in 2018 launched the Health for Wealth report demonstrating the 1/3 gap in productivity caused by health inequity between North and South England. She helped launch the Northern Universities Public Health Alliance and is a co-author on NHSA’s recent health inequalities COVID report with the NIHR Northern Applied Research Collaboratives (ARCs). As a journalist for 10 years for the Evening Chronicle, Journal and Sunday Sun in Newcastle, she won several awards for her campaigning work.
