Chief Scientific Officer, Sutura Therapeutics

Dr. Foster is a translational biologist with over 30 years’ experience in developing gene, cell and pharmaceutical medicines for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and metabolic diseases. He recently stepped away from his Associate Professorship role in Translational Medicine at the University of Reading, where his research interests covered neuromuscular and metabolic disease. Dr. Foster is the Founder and Chief Scientific Officer for Sutura Therapeutics and inventor of the PEPTIGO technology, a bi-functional gene medicine that target tissues such as muscle, heart and brain. Sutura have a number of assets, with their DMD program entering IND/CTA enabling studies.

Dr. Foster is part of a number of networks of excellence; acts on the scientific editorial board of numerous scientific journals; acts as an expert reviewer for grant applications and supports a number of scientific advisory boards for medical research charities.

Dr. Foster holds a B.Sc. (hons) in Genetics from Queen Mary, University of London and Ph.D. in Cancer Genetics from University College London.
