Managing Director, Medical Technologies Innovation Facility
Mike is Managing Director of the Medical Technologies Innovation Facility (MTIF) based in Nottingham, UK. Working with partners across the East Midlands MTIF aims to improve the quality of patient care by helping Med-Tech companies accelerate the development and commercial availability of innovative medical technologies and devices
Prior to joining MTIF Mike was Managing Director of the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) and Chair of the national AHSN network. Since their inception AHSNs have introduced 223 innovations to 11,000 NHS and social care locations benefiting 6 million patients.
Mike joined the NHS from the pharmaceutical industry, where he held senior leadership positions at AstraZeneca, Sanofi, Teva, Thermo Fisher Scientific and UCB. Mike has led the pharmaceutical development of a number of innovative new medicines and devices including Brilique, Caprelsa, Lynparza, Neupro, Pentacarinat, ProAir, QVAR EasiBreathe, Seroquel XR and Symbicort pMDI.
