Gabriela Martinez

Knowledge Transfer Manager, Life Sciences (Pharma/MedTech), Innovate UK KTN

Dr Gabriela Juarez Martinez is part of the health team of Innovate UK KTN, leading on AMR, Vaccines, and the Microbiome. Her work crosses over the animal and environmental sectors and has led innovation missions to China, Colombia, Germany, and Mexico.

Gabriela is a former Enterprise Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and founder and CEO of Centeo Biosciences, a scientific instrumentation company aiming to improve the protein crystallisation process by creating a product line of temperature-controlled microplates. The company raised £1.6m and achieved sales in 24 countries.

After exiting Centeo, Gabriela joined BioNano Consulting as a senior consultant working with academic groups at Imperial College and UCL to deliver industry-led projects.

Gabriela is passionate about helping innovators and entrepreneurs to translate their ideas into real-world solutions. She has been a mentor at the Innovation Forum and EIT-Health chapter UK and Ireland.
She is a biomedical scientist with over 20 years of managerial, commercial and innovation experience in life sciences and medtech. She holds PhD. in Bioelectronics (BioMEMs) from the University of Glasgow and a BSc and MSc in Biomedical Research from the National University of Mexico (UNAM).
