Jonathan Haigh

Vice President, Process Development, FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies

Jonathan Haigh has been active in the biopharmaceutical industry for over fifteen years working in both the bioprocess technology vendor and end-user sectors, holding positions in both the US and UK. Prior to working at FUJFIILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, Jonathan worked as a Research Scientist for Pall Life Sciences, developing disruptive technologies to advance the bioprocessing field, together with delivering technology evaluations to support merge and acquisition activities.

His career progression in FUJIFILM has taken him through technical roles of increasing responsibility, as a Subject Matter Expert in Chromatographic Separations, a senior Technical Project Leader, Head of Research & Development for Downstream Process Development, to his current role as Vice President of Process Development. He currently leads a team of over 300 process development scientists and engineers spanning Microbial, Mammalian and Viral Gene Therapy services, and drives a number of technology and strategy development programmes towards advancing biomanufacturing. He is an active industrial Ph.D. viva examiner for University College London, Biochemical Engineering Department, acts on the Bioplan Associate’s Biotechnology Industry Council™ Expert Panel, and has a number of patents and publications pertinent to the bioprocessing field. Jonathan completed a Ph.D. in antibody purification from the University of Cambridge, and an MBA from Durham University Business School.
